- After being awarded grants from Sport England and the Co-operative's Membership Fund, we have been able to appoint a new head coach of the junior section. Atiq Uz Zaman is a former Pakistani Test wicketkeeper who lives in Bolton and has just qualified as a Club Coach - the ECB's new qualification for coaches. Atiq plays his club cricket at St Annes' CC in the Northern League where he is also head coach. He will work mainly with the u15 and u17 squads at Junior Practice nights on Mondays. We are hoping that Atiq will put into place a structure that can help us to continue to produce young cricketers who can progress through to the first team and beyond.
- Our new £76k practice nets have now been completed.
- Overseas amateur Vikas Tokas has now returned to India for a pre-season training camp. We would like to thank him for all his efforts this season and we wish him well in his future career.
- The new Rochdale Community Cricket Coach, Sam Holt, has completed work in our local schools after delivering 240 hours of cricket coaching to children at Crossgates Primary School, Newhey Primary School, Milnrow Parish CE, Newhey St Thomas CE, Hollingworth BEC and Springhill High School under the Chance to Shine programme. Chance to Shine is funded by the Cricket Foundation and the club is in the 2nd of a 3 year programme to bring quality cricket coaching back into state schools. [Chance to Shine] [Cricket Foundation]
